The story behind my work

"The best code isn't the cleverest — it's the kind that turns a one-off build into a system other people can reuse."

I've spent the last 10+ years building web platforms at scale — from 150+ custom automotive dealer sites to a shared front-end theming platform serving multiple OEM brands at Cars Commerce, and now a reusable "website operating system" for local service businesses, built with Next.js, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS.

Along the way I've led and mentored teams of developers, run sprint planning and code reviews, and tracked production issues down to their root cause — I care as much about how a team ships as what gets shipped.

/ HOW I APPROACH TEACHING /

How I like to teach

I teach technical concepts by connecting them to real problems, breaking them into manageable steps, and giving students room to build, experiment, and debug. My goal is to make the "why" clear first, then move quickly from explanation to hands-on practice.

Make the why clear

Before writing code, I want students to understand what problem we're solving, how the concept works, and where they'll see it used in real software.

Learn by building

Programming becomes easier to understand when students can see a concept, try it themselves, change it, and watch the result.

Build confidence through debugging

Mistakes are part of learning to code. I help students understand errors, test assumptions, and develop a repeatable process for solving problems independently.
